Smoke Gets In Your Eyes: And Other Lessons From The Crematory
by Caitlin Doughty

This is honestly one of the best books I have read. I would not recommend it for everyone as it is quite a dark read and if you are not in the right mindset for it, it would probably be significantly less enjoyable. Still I found it incredibly fascinating and it made me rethink my own relationship with death and the culture that surrounds it in the United States.

Call Me By Your Name

I want so badly to be able to give this book a 10/5, 15/5, 50/5 even!! This was genuinly one of the most beauiful books I have ever read; everything about it was amazing, from the imagery, the metaphors, the philosophy of it, all of it was amazing. This is easily in my top 5 for books and I will definitely be rereading this at some point. However, there were parts of this story that were absolutely unneeded, and it makes me angry that the author is such a creep AND that he just had to write it into his work. I hate giving this book an only 3/5 because it truly is in no fault to the book that the author is a weirdo - but sadly it has to be done.

This book was really fun. I liked when Charlie finally got the golden ticket cause he was wanting it for so long. It also taught that if you don’t follow the rules, sometimes not good things may happen to you.

This book is enjoyable for kids 10-14. I liked the theme of trying to be more mature in 7th grade. It had a range of emotions throughout the story like happy, sad, angry, and surprised.

I like this book because it is funny, sad in some parts, and has a lot of action. I think other kids will like it because there is a lot going on and the characters are cool. My favorite character is Little Petey because he's adorable. My favorite part of the book was the flashbacks.

I loved this book! It was so suspenseful and action packed. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The romance subplot was very sweet and the characters felt so real. I could connect with them so much! The last parts had me crying tears of sadness and tears of happiness
